Bizarre Creations has yet to make up its mind about whether it will be offering downloadable content for The Club.
The Liverpudlian developer, best known for its (well, Microsoft’s) PGR series, is currently putting the finishing touches to The Club – which is due to be published by Sega early next year – but has yet to decide whether or not it will offer any downloadable content after the game has launched.
When asked about it, community and web lead Ben Ward said on the Bizarre forums: “We haven't really decided yet. That said, we’ve bundled as much gameplay as possible into the game on the disc, so I don’t think you’ll be pining for DLC any time soon”.
After years of being one of the UK’s leading independent game studios, it was announced in September that US publisher Activision had agreed to but Bizarre for an undisclosed sum. Since then, some have expressed concerns about whether or not Bizarre would continue to support its current titles, such as PGR4 and The Club.
In the case of PGR4, this question was laid to bed after Bizarre all but confirmed that it was working on a downloadable car pack, so hopefully The Club will benefit in the same way.
Even if it doesn’t, from what we’ve seen of it so far The Club is looking like being another winner, irrespective of whether you get the PlayStation 3 or 360 version.
According to Ward, “each version will be identical in terms of graphics.” Which be a relief to anyone growing tired of the count-the-pixel arguments that seem to be popping up all over the internet these days.
Throw in some awesome, old-school style high-tempo fun and it looks like The Club is going to be little short of stunning – just check out our preview if you don’t believe us.
