Team Ninja is working on three new titles, according to Tecmo’s new president.
Speaking at a press conference in Japan, newly appointed Tecmo president Yasuharu Kakihara announced that the beleaguered publisher’s star development team is working on three new games.
Sadly though, Kakihara declined to mention what these three games will be, or which platforms they’re in development for.
Team Ninja has been linked with several new projects in recent times, although nothing has been formally announced.
Indeed, despite all the upheaval that has surrounded the company of late – including the departure of Tomonobu Itagaki and the possibility of the company being taken over by Square-Enix – Tecmo’s new president was rather upbeat about the future.
“Tecmo is a world class game developer,” Kakihara said, adding that the company is “aiming to expand in the future.”
With the Tokyo Game Show due to kick off next month, hopefully it won’t be too long before Team Ninja’s ready to take the wraps off its next games.
We reckon one of them will be Dead or Alive 5. If you fancy making a prediction or two of your own, you know where the comments section is.
Thanks to Inside-games.jp for the heads up.
