The MEME expansion pack for Metal Gear Online is set to launch on 25 November, Konami has announced.
We already knew the pack was coming, but precious few details had been released about it until now.
The new pack, which is set to launch next Tuesday, will cost EUR 7.99 (about GBP 6.75), with new playable characters and maps leading the list of additions.
Those who download the pack will now be able to play as Liquid Ocelot and Mei-Ling, each of whom has their own unique abilities. Ocelot will be able use his Guns of the Patriots skills to manipulate the Sons of the Patriots’ lock system, while Mei-Ling has a Trench Mortar weapon, Soliton Sonar capabilities, and the means to transfix enemies.
Three new maps will figure as well: the rough, uneven industrial level Silo Sunset, the somewhat greener Forest Firefight and a snow-blown deserted factory called Winter Warehouse.
The rules have also been tweaked as well. A new ‘No Headshot’ setting has been added, enabling players to attribute the same level of damage when shot in the head to that of a regular body shot. ‘Stealth Death Match Mode’ lets you compete with stealth elements switched on automatically, while the ‘Interval’ setting enables gamers to practice and chat on the battlefield without their rankings plummeting.
An official Tournament lobby has also been created to pit players in battle situations where points are up for grabs, while a few token ‘funny’ bits have been added, such as the crocodile cap from MGS3 and a giant afro.
You’ll actually be able to pre-purchase the pack as off tomorrow, but you won’t be able to access the new material until the pack officially launches on 25 November.
