A 13-year-old boy in Italy has been diagnosed with ‘PlayStation addiction’, after he was rushed to hospital with stroke-like symptoms.
So news service Ananova is reporting, Lorenzo Amato was rushed to Lecce hospital in southern Italy by his father, after he lost the ability to speak and understand what was going on around him.
At first, doctors suspected that the teenager may have suffered a stroke or another severe brain disorder, but it now looks like the cause of the problem may well have been his console.
Prior to the problems starting, Amato had been enjoying a “marathon session” on his new PlayStation console.
“They eventually managed to take care of him once they understood that this was a strange kind of mental detachment connected to his PlayStation.” Local politician Antonio Buccoliero said, after speaking to Amato’s doctors.
Either way, it seems the boy has had enough of his console, asking his father to throw the machine away.
“If I even think about it I want to throw up,” he said.
Strange, but there you go. Cheers, VG247.
